LIFE GROUPS  —  Winter/Spring 2018       life-groups pic

A key priority for us at Celebration Church is our mid-week Life Groups. Sunday morning is a time for worship and fellowship but it is in the mid-week groups where lasting friendships are made and spiritual growth takes place. It is our goal that every member of Celebration Church would be part of a Life Group. This is where we: make friends, learn with friends, and pray with friends. For more info or to register please contact the group leader, or by email to , or call the Church office at 705-999-2911.  Click here to download the Life Group Schedule

Tuesday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 led by  Diane McVitty. Prayer request pic If you have never prayed before this is a good place to learn.  We include worship and times of silence.  We pray through all the requests that are written by the congregation in the Friendship Registers on Sunday morning.  We meet at Inniswood in the classroom.
In May there will be a regional Prayer Event at a retreat centre near Orangeville.  Watch for a date and details.

** WOMAN’S AFTERNOON LIFE GROUP   —  Pastor Kathleen and Gay Welsman will be leading the Woman’s Life Group on Tuesdays  from 12:45 to 3:00 pm. at Inniswood.  The regular weekly meetings will begin on Tuesday January 23rd with a focus on the Hebrew roots of familiar Bible texts.  Please speak to Pastor Kathleen or Gay Welsman for more information or to register.

On alternate Tuesday evenings this group meets at Marion O’Brien’s home to prayerfully knit Prayer Shawls which will be given out to those who are sick or in crisis.  As the sick are wrapped in the warmth of the shawls we pray that they will feel the love of the Lord Jesus.  For more information speak to Marion or Peggy Toynton.

Promesas y Pan:   The Sunday noon hour fellowship now goes by the name “Promesas y Pan” which is Spanish for “Promises and Bread”. Over lunch faithfully prepared by soup maker extraordinaire Barbara, we will randomly select a scripture promise from the Promise Box and go around the table asking for thoughts and feelings about it. All opinions and interpretations will be respected and assist us all in our understanding of how many great and precious promises are ours in The Bible. We will dismiss at 2 p.m. sharp. Hope to see you at our home for Sunday lunch!  Call Barb or Pastor Peter Williams.

MONDAYS  —  Leaders’ Focus:

For some years now members of Celebration Church have been attending the Willowcreek Summit held each August. It features high profile speakers from all walks of life (and all faith backgrounds) who speak on various aspects of leadership. St. Andrews Church in Alliston have invited us to join with them in a monthly series of Monday evenings when they will be serving dinner and showing some of the best of the Summit presentations.
The first of these dinner evenings will be held on Monday Feb. 12th at 5:30 pm at St. Andrew’s in Alliston (125 Wellington St W, New Tecumseth, ON L9R). The cost is $15 which includes dinner. There will be table discussion after the video presentation.
The first of these Summit evenings will feature SHERYL SANDBERG. She worked at Google and is now the Chief Operating Officer at Facebook. She speaks about women in leadership. She also speaks candidly about the tragic loss of her husband while they were on vacation in Mexico and how she and her children have tried to cope. She wrote a book about her experience called “Option B”. It was one of the most powerful presentations at last year’s Summit.
The deadline to register is Friday Feb 9th so that St. Andrew’s knows the numbers for dinner. Register with Pastor Brian at <>
The full monthly Monday evening schedule is:
